HAAPC - Houston  HAAPC membership is made up of firms in the Houston Area that are involved in direct hire placement, executive search, contract and temporary services. HAAPC is one of nine local associations in the state of Texas and is affiliated with the Texas Association of Personnel Consultants. When HAAPC was founded, the first objective listed in the bylaws was, To promote and encourage high standards, efficiency, conduct, and ethics of the personnel consulting industry by means of study, discussion, and education regarding business activities and responsibilities. To help accomplish this goal, HAAPC adopted the TAPC Standards of Business Practices which established guidelines for relations with employers, candidates, other private personnel services, and employees. HAAPC also established an ongoing educational program which included regularly scheduled meetings for the general membership highlighting speakers and trainers that focus on the varied interests of the membership. HAAPC also sponsors an annual local awards program which recognizes top performers in the categories of direct hire placement, blended services and contract/temporary services. This encourages a spirit of friendly competition and offers recognition for participating members of HAAPC.

HAAPC hosted its first annual “Run, Walk, and Roll” on October 10, 2009. This event was a relay style event and the morning was filled with individuals competing in the "Roller Division" in adaptive devices and wheelchairs, “Walkers”, and then more serious "Runners" in a variety of classifications. It was a great success with a portion of the proceeds benefitting Spina Bifida of Houston Gulf Coast and The Center Serving Persons with Mental Retardation. Medals and awards were presented for winners, participants, and for fun awards such as “Most Spirited”.
